CAM Programmer

Job Title: CAM Programmer


The iMFLUX CAM Programmer/Machinist will lead the manufacturing programming/part prove out effort for mold components using a variety of CAM software packages while working directly with CAD models to produce conforming hardware within the required time frame to meet internal department and external company commitments while ensuring a safe work environment. 

Essentials Functions:

  • Meet production rates, scrap, quality and safety requirements
  • CAM Programmer activities include:
  • Program management
  • Programming method
  • Software updates
  • Utilize PLM
  • Support machinist
  • Prove out programs
  • Troubleshooting of CAM programs
    • Communicate professionally with company personnel
    • Represent iMFLUX professionally to external partners at all time
    • Good communications in all areas of the manufacturing operation – technical and written
    • High organizational skills
    • Coordinate / create standard tooling lists
    • Perform complex 3D modeling, programming and debug as required
    • Machine operation as needed
    • Perform in-process inspection and document results
    • Follow systems processes for job tracking and recording
    • Follow all required safety procedures outlined in Company policy and OSHA regulations
    • Adhere to all guidelines pertaining to Company Purpose Values Principles (PVPs)
    • Follow Lockout/Tag-out procedure and understand safety processes
    • Work from CAD files, engineering drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions to perform highly diversified machining operations to specifications
    • Create and edit complex programs using CAD/CAM systems, machine controllers and conversational programming
    • Perform multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments to assure high quality levels in component machining
    • Ability to understand CMM reports and make accurate machining adjustments to a variety of machining processes to yield a conforming part
    • Report all non-conformance conditions per company procedures
    • Update and monitor DNC software and content
    • Recognize and report any inadequacies in models, prints, materials and routers to increase quality and first-time yield
    • Apply and recommend the latest skills and trade technologies available to accomplish the job objective with optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness
    • Collaborate with injection mold designers for component manufacturability
    • Review 3D CAD files of mold components for manufacturability
    • Report information accurately and timely to management
    • Set-up, prove out and hand-off critical part specific programs to Milling Lead
    • Other duties as assigned

  • 5-7 years of CAM experience
  • 10 years on-machine experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Limited Travel (<10%)
  • Injection Mold experience (desired)
  • Direct management experience (desired)
