Staff Accountant

Job Title: Staff Accountant

Overview:

The Staff Accountant directly reports to the Controller.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, accounts payable, cash disbursements, fixed asset accounting, general ledger accountability, financial reporting, and other projects as assigned.

 

Essentials Functions:

Review and process accounts payable invoices and communicate with suppliers
Research and resolve discrepancies for accounts payable
Process ACH, check and wire transfer disbursements
Provide cash disbursement, open invoice and open PO status reports to management
Provide assistance with accounts receivable collections
Prepare customer quotes
Ensure accuracy of transactions through application of company policies and GAAP
Prepare journal entries and monthly general ledger account reconciliations
Manage fixed assets subledger and propose monthly depreciation journals
Assist with preparation of month-end financial statements, cash flow statements, budgets
Identify and assist in the implementation of process improvements within the organization
Assist with other finance and accounting activities as assigned

Qualifications:

§  High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or accounting coursework preferred

§  Relevant work experience including accounts payable, cash disbursements, and general ledger account reconciliations

§  Excellent computer skills including advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
