Job Title: Mold Maker


The iMFLUX Mold Maker will assist the mold fabrication effort for the assigned molds using a variety of manual tools, CAD data, safe practices and will work within the manufacturing department to deliver the completed injection molds while meeting all requirements to ensure internal department and external company commitments are maintained.

Essentials Functions:

Mold Assembly activities include:
o Lead mold build effort from an assembly / fit & finish perspective
o Support manufacturing of R&D projects
o Mentoring / Coaching manufacturing team
o Technical support over assigned mold manufacturing
o Ensure that world-class manufacturing, quality, interchangeability and standards are being met within mold assembly process
o Perform operations such as de-burring, stoning, polishing and lapping as needed – as well as understand the processes completely
o Utilize and enforce PLM usage within manufacturing process
o Troubleshooting and problem-solving
o Coordinate with Mold Designers to help ensure up-front design manufacturability
o Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers ( router/piece part process input )
o Action item support by mold
o Assembly plan for assigned molds
o Working with minimal direction
• Meet production rates, scrap, quality and safety requirements
• Support/help initiatives for process improvements, new technologies and equipment
• Knowledge of Hot Runner and Cold Runner Manifolds
• Adjust as necessary during shift to produce products within specifications
• Communicate professionally with company personnel and represent iMFLUX professionally to external partners at all times
• Good communications in all areas of the manufacturing operation – technical and written
• High organizational skills
• Coordinate and lead multiple mold builds
• Machine operation as needed (not only for assigned mold, company need)
o A wide variety of manual equipment – milling machines, lathes & surface grinders
• Perform in-process inspection and document results
• Help Develop quality plan for in-process or final inspection
• Follow systems processes for job tracking and recording
• Follow all required safety procedures outlined in Company policy and OSHA regulations
• Adhere to all guidelines pertaining to Company Purpose Values Principles (PVPs)
• Follow Lockout/Tag-out procedure and understand safety processes
• Work from CAD files, engineering drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions to perform highly diversified machining operations to specifications
• Perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments to assure high quality levels in component machining
• Ability to understand CMM reports and make accurate machining adjustments to a variety of machining processes to yield a conforming part
• Report all non-conformance conditions per company procedures
• Recognize and report any inadequacies in models, prints, materials and routers to increase quality and first-time yield
• Apply and recommend the latest skills and trade technologies available to accomplish the job objective with optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Required to handle / move hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to safety guidelines
• Must follow all safety guidelines as outlined in the company
• Other duties as assigned

• PC DMIS (preferred)


10+ years in mold manufacturing industry ( required )
High School Diploma or equivalent
Limited travel ( <10% but required based upon business needs )
