Job Title: Manufacturing Quality Engineering Leader (MQEL)

Overview:

This is a new position in the iMFLUX Manufacturing Organization and one that will be critical to the growth of our business.  The goal of IMFLUX Manufacturing and Process Engineering (IEC) is to be recognized as a world class, premier fabrication and qualification facility whose reputation is that of a mold/tool builder who delivers superior designs, superior delivery, superior quality and flawless executions throughout the complete process.  This role will be integral in our continues quest to deliver this vision.  This role will report directly to the V.P. of Manufacturing with high visibility to other senior leaders in the company.

Essentials Functions:

At a very high level, the functions of this role will cut across all aspects of mold fabrication and delivery.  The MQEL will work directly with Customers, Design & Engineering, Manufacturing, Mold Assembly, Advanced Manufacturing, Metrology and Process Engineering to: 1.) Identify any and all opportunities for process improvements, 2.) eradicate mistakes made throughout all functions, 3.) and create and implement correction actions/measures designed to avoid mistakes in the future.

Independently lead a deep investigation into the current manufacturing process(es) to identify all areas where the risk of mistakes is evident.

Provide recommendations and solutions to senior leadership on methods to capture and eradicate these risks.

Development of new SOPs, processes, procedures, methods and/or QMS documents, specific to Mold Manufacturing that will provide the framework for a total quality system in mold manufacturing.

Lead the development of a holistic ‘flow-chart’ that provides the road map for mold manufacturing.  This will include all work processes, inspection points, control planning, quality forms, reporting formats and sign offs by key stakeholders throughout the process.

Assist Corporate Quality Management Systems Manager(s) in establishing, implementing and maintaining the quality management system where appropriate.  Note: this position does not report into the Corporate QMS organization, but will be asked to participate and contribute to this team so as to maintain and insure consistency within to total quality management system.

Reviews customer and supplier specifications and expectations.  Develops a comprehensive quality plan based on the precise needs of each to deliver a mold that meets and/or exceeds expectations.

When appropriate, develop training to build quality awareness.

Interface with Design & Engineering, Manufacturing, Advanced Manufacturing, Metrology, Mold Assembly and the IEC to ensure transfer of the final mold and/or products are in accordance with approved data.

Analyze failure, corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.

Create and maintain manufacturing quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.

Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.

Implement a NCR/ CAR tracking system (Unipoint) to track non-conformances and ensure that proper actions happen.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Five (5) years' in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001:2001 is preferred
  • Strong statistical and problem solving knowledge
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing techniques.
