Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Title: Manufacturing Process Engineer


Under the direction of the Advanced Manufacturing Manager, with minimal supervision, the Manufacturing Engineer will manage projects and process components through iMFLUX’s manufacturing environment

Essentials Functions:

Work from CAD files, engineering drawings, sketches and or verbal instructions to plan highly diversified machining operations to specifications.

• Recognize and report any inadequacies in models, prints, materials and routers to increase quality and first-time yield

• Review 3D CAD files of mold components for manufacturability

• Collaborate with Injection Mold Designers for component manufacturability

• Prepare RFQ (Request for Quote) packages for new projects which require outsourced work

• Work with Purchasing to review and assess suppliers

• Determine and specify material types and sizes for fabrication of mold components

• Determine and specify operation sequence for the fabrication of mold components

• Determine and specify operation sequence for the finishing and assembly of molds

• Determine and design required work holding fixtures and in-process models to facilitate the                            manufacturing of mold components

• Participate in mold design reviews and lead manufacturing kickoff meetings

• Maintain the manufacturing processes of components during the manufacturing process including repair procedures, capacity process changes, and engineering changes (ECNs)

• Participate in the development and maintenance of tooling standards, processes, and best practices

• Develop a quality measurement strategy for mold components

• Support Project Management and Production Scheduling with mold manufacturing schedules for internal and external customers

• Complete all necessary documentation to ensure a seamless production handoff

• Report information accurately and timely to management

• Lead and/or participate in process improvement projects within manufacturing department

• Review quoted hours and costs for mold manufacturing as needed

• Other duties as assigned

Process-oriented, methodical in work duties

Ability to understand milling, turning, wire EDM, sinker EDM, grinding, welding, and heat-treating processes effectively to create process plans


  • 10+ years of Manufacturing Process Experience or Technical Engineering degree with a minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience.
  • Proficient with a 3D CAD system, Siemens Teamcenter and NX preferred
  • Experience working in Manufacturing ERP System
  • Proficient with MS Programs
  • Injection mold manufacturing experience (desired)
